ACCESSIBILITY

Northern Star Theatre’s facility is  handicap accessible.  We are able to provide a number of  accommodations for our patrons with disabilities. It is always preferable, when special accommodations are needed, to make your reservation in advance so management is able to properly address each individual’s needs.

AISLES

For safety and as a courtesy to other ticket holders, please do not sit or stand in the aisles. Aisles should be kept clear at all times. We ask that you comply with these policies. Any patron not in compliance is subject to ejection.

ANIMALS

The NSTC has a strict policy towards animals on the premises and therefore does not allow animals or pets at the Theatre under normal circumstances, with the exception of service animals such as guide dogs. The ADA defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability.

CAMERAS and FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY

The use of cameras or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited by performers, producers and copyright laws.

CANCELLED/POSTPONED EVENTS

In the rare event that a Northern Star Theatre event is postponed or cancelled, please visit the Theatre website, specific to the event you possess tickets to for more information.

CHILDREN

Please check the event profile for your specific event for the minimum age requirement prior to your purchase of tickets. For most events, all children who have reached their second birthday require a ticket to gain admittance to The NSTC . Any child who has yet to reach their second birthday does not require a ticket, however, they may not occupy their own seat and must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap. Please note, that for certain children’s events all children who have reached their first birthday require a ticket.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We ask all guests to be respectful of others around them. Any guest who interferes with the enjoyment of another individual during an event is subject to ejection from the building. During performances we ask all guests to remain seated for the duration of the performance. Depending on the demographics of certain events (such as concerts), standing may be accepted as normal protocol. Guests are permitted to stand if the majority of the audience is doing the same.  Standing on seats or any other building structure is not permitted and may result in ejection from the event.

DOOR OPENING TIMES

Doors for events at The Northern Star Theatre open one hour prior to event start time.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES

NSTC is proud to be a 100% volunteer organization! We are ALWAYS looking for new volunteers to share their time and talents in a variety of ways.  If you have time and any specific talent to share with us we’d love to hear from you!  Visit our Volunteer Sign-up page or Call our box office number (715) 736-4444 and leave a your contact info on line 2, a company member will return your call!

 FOOD & BEVERAGE

NSTC has an in-house deli. Bob’s Bistro is open 1 hour prior to showtime and serves light suppers, beverages and a variety of tasty desserts.  Beer and wine are also available.  Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the theatre.  Can I take concessions into the auditorium? This varies from show to show. Please ask your bartender or an usher about the event’s policy. Bottled water is always permitted in the auditorium.

GUEST SERVICES

The NSTC is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Any guest in need of assistance during an event should seek an Usher or Guest Relations Representative.

HANDOUTS/LEAFLETS/VENDING

The distribution of promotional items, flyers, handbills or printed materials is not permitted without written permission of  NSTC . In addition, vending, peddling or product sampling is not allowed.

LOST & FOUND

If you’ve misplaced an item while you’re at the theatre, please visit our box office or ask for the assistance of one of our ushers. Any items found by ushers or other patrons will be taken to the box office. If you’ve already left the theatre, please call the Theatre’s box office at 715-736-4444  and we’ll be happy to check our Lost and Found for you.

LOST CHILDREN

If you become separated from your child during an event, please seek the nearest Usher or Guest Relations Representative for assistance. It always helps if your child has his or her seat location information with them.

LOST TICKETS

If you have lost your tickets or they have been stolen before your event takes place, please return to your point of purchase for further assistance.

PARKING

There are a number of FREE parking options surrounding the theater. Free on-street parking is available on Water Street – the street that runs East/West.  (we ask that parking spots directly near our Water St. entrance be reserved for handicap or senior audience members).  The lot directly behind the Rice Lake Chronotype is available free to our patrons.  We do ask, however, that you do not park in front of the Chronotype’s loading dock.  There is also parking available on Main St. and adjacent to the Rice Lake Chamber across Main St. from NSTC.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

We ask that our guests avoid bringing unnecessary items. Amongst items that are prohibited from The NSTC are: weapons, outside food and beverage, cans, bottles, alcohol, drugs, laser pens, balloons, video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.

RECORDING DEVICES

Video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses are not permitted inside NSTC at any time. This policy will be strictly enforced.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

NSTC  has a no refund policy on tickets for all events. Exchanges are allowed one-time only and can only be made for the production for which the original ticket was purchased.

SEATING CAPACITY

The Northern Star Theatre is a black box theater. Seating for each production can vary as the theater stage and seating set-up is varied as a production requires. For most events, the seating capacity is approximately  120  however, this capacity does change depending on the scaling of the event.

SECURITY

We ask all guests to arrive early and travel light as you may be subject to search. We ask that our guests avoid bringing unnecessary items.  Items that are prohibited from NSTC include but are not limited to: weapons, oversized bags, outside food and beverage, cans, bottles, alcohol, drugs, laser pens, video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.

SMOKING

By law, smoking in all areas of the theater is prohibited. You may smoke outside the theater building; however, you must retain your ticket for admittance back into the building.

 TICKETS

Tickets may be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com at anytime prior to a production. Brown Paper Tickets can provide support to patrons 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Additionally, tickets can be purchased through our box office at 715-736-4444. Please note that our box office is not staffed daily. We take messages and return phone calls several times a week and more often as a production nears.  Advance reservations are always recommended as performances often sell-out.
