AISLES

For safety and as a courtesy to other ticket holders, please do not sit or stand in the aisles. Aisles should be kept clear at all times. We ask that you comply with these policies. Any patron not in compliance is subject to ejection.

ANIMALS

The NSTC has a strict policy towards animals on the premises and therefore does not allow animals or pets at the Theatre under normal circumstances, with the exception of service animals such as guide dogs. The ADA defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability.

BOTTLES & CONTAINERS

Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the theatre. Bob’s Bistro offer a wide variety of beverage and snack options, including light pre-theatre fare. Can I take concessions into the auditorium? This varies from show to show. Please ask your bartender or an usher about the event’s policy. Bottled water is always permitted in the auditorium.

BROKEN SEATS

If your seat is broken, please contact the nearest Usher or Guest Relations Representative for further assistance.

CAMERAS

The use of cameras or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited by performers, producers and copyright laws.

CANCELLED/POSTPONED EVENTS

In the rare event that a Northern Star Theatre event is postponed or cancelled, please visit the Theatre website, specific to the event you possess tickets to for more information.

CHILDREN

Please check the event profile for your specific event for the minimum age requirement prior to your purchase of tickets. For most events, all children who have reached their second birthday require a ticket to gain admittance to The NSTC . Any child who has yet to reach their second birthday does not require a ticket, however, they may not occupy their own seat and must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap. Please note, that for certain children’s events all children who have reached their first birthday require a ticket.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We ask all guests to be respectful of others around them. Any guest who interferes with the enjoyment of another individual during an event is subject to ejection from the building. During performances we ask all guests to remain seated for the duration of the performance. Depending on the demographics of certain events (such as concerts), standing may be accepted as normal protocol. Guests are permitted to stand if the majority of the audience is doing the same.  Standing on seats or any other building structure is not permitted and may result in ejection from the event.

DISABLED SERVICES

Northern Star Theatre’s facility is entirely handicap accessible.  We are able to provide a limited number of disabled accommodations. It is always preferably when special accommodations are needed to make your reservation in advance so management is able to properly address each individual’s needs.

DOOR OPENING TIMES

Doors for events at The Northern Star Theatre open one hour prior to event start time.

DRESS CODE

Unless otherwise noted, The Northern Star Theatre  does not have a formal dress code. We do ask, however, that you use your best personal judgement when dressing for an event.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES

NSTC is proud to be a 100% volunteer organization! We are ALWAYS looking for new volunteers to share their time and talents in a variety of ways.  If you have time and any specific talent to share with us – we’d love to hear from you! Call our box office number 715 736-4444 and leave a your contact info on line 2 and a company member will return your call!

FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography inside the The NSTC is prohibited at all times. Flash photography is not only distracting to the performers, but to your fellow patrons as well.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the theatre. Bob’s Bistro offers a wide variety of beverage and snack options, including light pre-theatre fare. Can I take concessions into the auditorium? This varies from show to show. Please ask your bartender or an usher about the event’s policy. Bottled water is always permitted in the auditorium.  Audience members are reminded NSTC has an in-house deli Bob’s Bistro.  Bob’s Bistro is open 1 hour prior to showtime and serves light suppers, beverages and a variety of tasty desserts.  Beer and wine also available.

GROUP RATES

NSTC offers a group rate for all of it’s regular season productions.  Group rates must be pre-arranged with the NSTC Box Office. A “group” consists of 15 or more people.  Group discounts are assigned for each production by the Box Office Manager. Group rates are accomplished within the parameter of a group chairperson who coordinates their group by providing in advance a method of payment and is in charge of the distribution of tickets.  At NSTC we are also happy to arrange a group lunch or intermisson treats with beverage – as pre-arranged with the group chairperson and box office manager.

GUEST SERVICES

The NSTC is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Any guest in need of assistance during an event should seek an Usher or Guest Relations Representative.

HANDOUTS/LEAFLETS/VENDING

The distribution of promotional items, flyers, handbills or printed materials is not permitted without written permission of The NSTC Theatre. In addition, vending, peddling or product sampling is not allowed.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

The NSTC  rarely cancels or postpones events due to inclement weather. Please be advised that tickets for all events are sold on a non-refundable and non-exchangeable basis. This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be posted, as soon as we receive it, on our website as well as on our main information telephone line at 715.736.4444.  Please continue to check our website and call our main information telephone line for the latest, up-to-the-minute information.

INSIDER EMAIL LETTER

Contact the theatre at 715-736-4444 to sign-up for our email newsletter. Please provide your name and email address to be added to our mailing list.  The NSTC Insider and receive news and special offers via e-mail. As new shows and performances are frequently added, any printed materials might quickly become outdated. While we do occasional mailings, we handle the majority of our communications via email. LOST & FOUND

If you’ve misplaced an item while you’re at the theatre, please visit our box office or ask fot the assitance of one of our ushers. Any items found by ushers or other patrons will be taken to the box office. If you’ve already left the theatre, please call the Theatre’s box office at 715-736-4444  and we’ll be happy to check our Lost and Found for you.

LOST CHILDREN

If you become separated from your child during an event, please seek the nearest Usher or Guest Relations Representative for assistance. It always helps if your child has his or her seat location information with them.

LOST TICKETS

If you have lost your tickets or they have been stolen before your event takes place, please return to your point of purchase for further assistance.

PARKING

There are a number of FREE parking options surrounding the theatre. Free  on-street parking is available on Water Street – the street that runs East/West.  (we ask that parking spots directly near our Water St. entrance be reserved for handicap or senior audience members).  The lot directly behind the Rice Lake Chronotype is available free to our patrons.  We do ask, however, that you do not park in front of the Chronotype’s loading dock.  There is also parking available on Main St. and adjacent to the Rice Lake Chamber across Main St. from NSTC.

PRE-SALE INFORMATION

For some events at the NSTC , NSTC or promotoers of events at NSTC may decide to set up special pre-sales.  During a pre-sale, a limited number of tickets are available for sale within a specified amount of time prior to the sale of tickets to the general public. Please note that while a pre-sale can afford you the opportunity to attempt to purchase tickets before the general public sale, there is no guarantee that you will be able to obtain tickets since, as in normal ticket-selling situations, there is a limited supply of tickets. Pre-sale information for various events (if applicable) is available 6 weeks prior to each event.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

We ask that our guests avoid bringing unnecessary items. Amongst items that are prohibited from The NSTC are: weapons, oversized bags, outside food and beverage, cans, bottles, alcohol, drugs, laser pens, balloons, video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.

RECORDING DEVICES

Video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses are not permitted inside NSTC at any time. This policy will be strictly enforced.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

NSTC  has a no refund, no exchange policy on tickets for all events. Exchanges are allowed one-time only and can only be made for the production for which the original ticket was purchased. A $1 per ticket service charge for the exchange will be issued.

SEATING CAPACITY

The Northern Star Theatre is a black box theatre. Seating for each production can vary as the theatre stage and seating set-up is varied as a production requries. For most events, the seating capacity is approximately  120  however, this capacity does change depending on the scaling of the event.

SECURITY

We ask all guests to arrive early and travel light as you may be subject to search. We ask that our guests avoid bringing unnecessary items.  Amongst items that are prohibited from NSTC are: weapons, oversized bags, outside food and beverage, cans, bottles, alcohol, drugs, laser pens, video cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.

SMOKING

By law, smoking in all areas of the Theatre is prohibited. You may smoke outside the theatre building; however, you must retain your ticket for admittance back into the building.

STANDING

During some concerts, the artists may encourage guests be permitted to stand immediately in front of their seats during the entirety of the performance. On those occasions, standing guests shall continue to be respectful of others around them and avoid blocking the view of other guests. Standing on seats or any other building structure is not permitted and may result in ejection from the event.

TICKETS

You can purchase tickets in person at The NSTC  Box Office one hour prior to performances at 715-736-4444 . Advance reservations are always recommended as performances often sell-out.

TICKET STUBS

Your ticket is proof that you are in possession of a valid ticket for the event that you are attending and also designates your correct seat location. This information will also help our staff locate your party in the event that you become separated. The NSTC staff may ask to see your ticket at any time during the event. You will also need to keep your ticket in the rare occurrence an event is cut short for any reason.
